June has arrived, and with it comes two very different ways of looking at color.

This week’s Color Drop, Silver Tide, is soft, luminous, and ever-changing, inspired by the shifting light on the water surrounding Vinalhaven. Alongside it, I’m excited to share a special June release, Color Out Loud, a vibrant celebration of color, individuality, and the joy of showing up as ourselves.

One color whispers. One color sings. Together, they remind me that there is no single right way to move through the world. Sometimes we find beauty in quiet reflection. Sometimes we find it in living brightly and unapologetically. Both have their place, and both are worth celebrating.

Silver Tide first appeared last summer as a preorder experiment. The experiment didn't stick, but the color certainly did.

A soft blend of turquoise and luminous silver, Silver Tide shifts and shimmers as it catches the light. It reminds me of a calm harbor on a quiet morning, when the water reflects the sky and it's impossible to tell where one begins and the other ends.

Easy to wear and endlessly versatile, Silver Tide carries a little piece of the Maine coast wherever your day takes you.

I've shared the work of John O'Donohue many times over the years. The first poem of his that found its way into my life was Beannacht, given to me when I first began offering poems in my store. His words have been a steady companion ever since, bringing comfort, perspective, and often exactly what I needed to hear at the right moment. I hope this blessing speaks to you as it has to me.

This special collection celebrates authenticity, courage, joy, and belonging. It honors people living openly as themselves, those who are still finding their way, and the communities that create spaces where everyone is welcomed and valued for exactly who they are.

This year, a portion of every Color Out Loud purchase will be donated to OUT Maine, an organization dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for LGBTQ+ youth across Maine. Through programs, community building, leadership opportunities, and resources, OUT Maine helps young people feel seen, valued, and connected. Their work creates spaces where youth can be themselves, build confidence, and find support, regardless of where they live in our state. I'm grateful for the opportunity to support their mission through this year's June fundraiser.

Studio Notes

This week brought an unexpected lesson in kiln repair.

My newest kiln has been giving me trouble, and after a bit of troubleshooting I discovered the culprit was a faulty pyrometer. Replacing it meant opening up the inside of a piece of equipment that costs considerably more than my first car, which was equal parts educational and nerve-racking.

Thankfully, I wasn't on my own. The team at Hot Glass, the kiln manufacturer, provided excellent customer service and patiently walked me through the troubleshooting and repair process step by step. Their guidance gave me the confidence to tackle the repair, and I'm happy to report the kiln is now working like new.

I'll be sharing more about the experience, along with a deeper look at kilns and the role they play in my work, in next week's blog post. For now, I'm simply grateful to have all three kilns back in action and turning glass, heat, and a little patience into color once again.

Upcoming Events

I'm excited to be returning to Belfast Arts in the Park on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 for my third year at this wonderful show.

I'll be bringing a colorful collection of jewelry from the studio, including a special event color, Belfast Blue, created just for the occasion. If you're planning to be in Belfast that weekend, I hope you'll stop by, say hello, and spend a little time exploring all the amazing work from artists across Maine and beyond.

It's one of my favorite summer events, and I'm looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.
