Spring is stretching its legs on the island. The ocean is still very cold and the spruce are holding their deep green, but the light is clearly staying longer each evening.

This week’s color, Returning Light, glows with that first warmth spreading across moss, granite, and water.

A single luminous stone captures the glow of Returning Light. Transparent green glass layered with pink and gold dichroic and capped with a veil of yellow shifts as it moves, revealing warm flashes of rose, gold, and green—like sunlight returning to moss and granite after a long winter.

I love snow. Truly. But somewhere around this point, I’m ready for gardens. In the greenhouse, the chives and kale are starting to come up. Unfortunately … the rest of the garden beds are snow covered. Spring is definitely (I think) on its way.

Monday’s snow gave the paddock a fresh white blanket, politely covering the mud and manure of March. Baci and Pretty approved of the scenery but remained committed to the real priority of the morning: breakfast.
