Since WindHorse Arts launch in 2000, I have personally crafted each piece, working with sheets of colored glass, a hand held glass cutter and a 1500 degree kiln.
What emerge from the fire are rare pieces of captured light in the brilliant spectrum of colors illuminating my studio and my customers.
My journey in glass started with a lost earring. Inspired to make a match for the remaining favorite earring, I learned to fuse glass at a moment when I was seeking a new way to live, and work I wouldn’t want to retire from. When people started asking to buy the jewelry right off my body, I listened.

I’ve owned all types of jewelry and nothing compares to WindHorse Arts. Once I bought my first necklace I was HOOKED!! I don’t wear anything else. I consistently receive compliments! The myriad of colors go with everything and anything. Also if I’m looking for something custom, it’s never an issue and during COVID, it has been a godsend to be able to send WindHorse Arts gift cards! I can’t say enough!

Tapas Plate
This fused glass dish measures about 5" by 5", looks great by itself or with a mix of others. Use it for table ware or as a soap dish or simply for display.
WindHorse Jewelry is worn by all people (not just women) ranging in age from 5-95 and as a longtime customer says “WindHorse jewelry is like a good pair of shoes it can be dressed up or dressed down - it’s perfect for any occasion.”
To create pieces simultaneously elemental and personal, I draw inspiration from the everchanging landscape - sea and stone, forest and sky - of my island home, from the family of people who love my jewelry, and from the music and stories always playing as I work.

Studio and Storefront on Vinalhaven Island in Maine
In 2003, I moved my studio from my home to a commercial building which allowed me to incorporate my studio with a storefront. I have continued that practice and my current location - 50 Main Street on Vinalhaven Island in Maine has light filled windows in the middle of town where customers and friends alike stop in while I’m working in the studio. The combination of studio and storefront has resulted in an ongoing collaboration between me and my customers which has supported the growth of WindHorse over the past 20 years.
