Care + Cleaning

Glass:

Dichroic Glass is known for its brightness and clarity of color.  Simply by handling your jewelry, body oils can deposit themselves in the micro pores of the glass. To bring back the clarity of the Dichroic Glass clean it by wiping it with a lint free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Please handle your jewelry with care.

Dichroic glass is glass and is fragile ~ it can break or chip if dropped on a hard surface!!

Silver:

Silver DOES tarnish and we do not recommend polishes or chemicals to clean the silver as it has the potential to damage the glass.

What does work well is a silver cloth.  You can find some here

Tarnishing, or a darkening of the metal's surface, is more likely to occur when the silver is not used frequently. What a good excuse to keep wearing your favorite WindHorse Arts jewelry.  Minimize tarnish and other damage by keeping your jewelry dry. Wiping off your jewelry after you wear it will get rid of any dampness, lotion, perfumes, or makeup that may have transferred from your skin, and will help to prevent tarnishing.

Leather:

Care for your leather necklaces the same way you would treat your best leather shoes or bag. I recommend removing your necklace or bracelet before showering or swimming as it may be damaged if it gets repeatedly wet.

Wire:

I recommend removing your necklace before showering or swimming. The wire may breakdown if it is subject to repeated moisture.
