After months of gray granite, brown bark, and last year’s burnished leaves, the first bright greens appear almost overnight. Tiny shoots pushing through the soil, glowing against the quiet browns of late winter.

The Story of the Color
This color was inspired by that exact moment in the garden when winter finally loosens its grip. The earth is still cool, the beds are still mostly brown, and then suddenly there it is — a flash of yellow-green. Chives and Sorrel appearing again where they always does, bright and determined. Small green signals that the garden is waking up. Each day another hint of life, another reminder that spring is finding its way back. Moss brightening along the stones. The whole landscape quietly beginning again.
Hello Spring captures that fresh burst of life. Bright yellow-green dichroic glass glows from within, carrying the energy of new growth and longer days. In the light, the color shifts and shimmers, echoing the way young leaves seem almost luminous as they first emerge. For me, this color holds the joy of early spring on Vinalhaven. Mud season, yes, but also the return of light, the first green sparks in the garden, and the feeling that the whole island is quietly waking up again.
A small celebration of new beginnings.
About the Jewelry
Each piece in the Hello Spring collection begins as sheets of dichroic glass that I hand-cut and layer by hand. The glass is fired in the kiln where heat transforms the layers into a single luminous stone, locking the color and light together inside the glass.
Every stone is slightly unique. As the glass melts and settles in the kiln, subtle variations in color, pattern, and light naturally appear, giving each piece its own character.
The finished stones are paired with simple, durable settings that allow the color to take center stage. Whether worn as earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, or one of my small Candy Drops, the jewelry is designed to let the glass glow and move with the light throughout the day.
Like all of my Color Drops, Hello Spring is a limited color run. Once the glass used to create this color is gone, it’s retired and becomes part of the growing archive of past colors.
